Raleigh, North Carolina––After revealing new updates to the parish website, pastor of St. Claire Church Fr. Nicholas Walker told his flock that should they have to confess, to henceforth do so by the new “Click-to-Confess” feature on the parish website. “I began to notice a rise in parishioners desiring confessions, but I couldn’t get to all of them with the 15 minutes I have allotted for confessions a week,” Walker said. The Click-to-Confess feature allows penitents to confess anonymously from the comforts of home or coffee shop. “They simply log on, click from the long list of sins available to confess, and send. They’ll receive an automated response within 5-10 minutes with an electronic receipt of their confession, as well as confirmation of their absolution and recommended penance. “It’s really an amazing new feature,” one parishioner told Eye of the Tiber. “One confession I had last week was really awkward and embarrassing so I simply clicked the ‘Mumble’ button. I got a response back a few minutes later asking, ‘What’s that?’ I clicked the ‘Mumble’ button again and received an absolution about two minutes later.”
