Close to a week after Jesuit priest Fr. James Martin prayed for the unborn at the National Democratic Convention, local conservative Catholic Reggie Duval neared the end of yet another day in which he pondered whether or not he would remain pro-life.

“As you could imagine, this has been a real struggle for me,” Duval told EOTT, rewatching the scene in which Martin, a liberal leaning priest, prayed for the unborn. “I’ve probably watched this clip a hundred times already hoping to find that I misunderstood what he said.”

Duval, a 38-year-old cradle Catholic, says that the thought of agreeing with the liberal celebrity priest on something has been extremely agonizing, to the point of questioning nearly everything he believes in.

“If [Fr. James Martin] is pro-life, then I obviously have to be pro-choice. That seems to be my only option at this point. I mean, the man isn’t even a Catholic. If he was, I obviously wouldn’t be. I just don’t know what to believe anymore.”
