Popular television personality and speaker Fr. Mitch Pacwa has been expelled from the Society of Jesus after being caught in possession of a copy of the Catechism of the Catholic Church earlier this week, Jesuit officials are reporting.

According to Jesuit Superior General Arturo Sosa, Pacwa was seen in possession of the Catechism while travelling with fellow Jesuits.

Fr. Gerard Nunez immediately reported the “disturbing incident” to Society authorities after seeing Pacwa moving some clothes in his luggage to conceal the forbidden book. Camera monitors captured footage of Pacwa’s green Catechism, and was later called to testify in front of the Supreme and Fabulous Council of Jesuits where he confessed to carrying the book.

“He confessed immediately to having carried a copy of the Catechism,” Nunez told EOTT. “He’s an idiot in that way. That’s not something to be playing around with. The Catechism is like the Ouija Board for Jesuits. That’s to say that it’s of the devil and that we need stay clear of it. It’s not a game.”

Pacwa originally faced a penalty of ten consecutive viewings of Brokeback Mountain for having possession of the Catechism, which the Supreme and Fabulous Council of Jesuits called a slap on the wrist because Pacwa was “a bad, bad boy,” but was later expelled from the Society altogether.

Interesting fact: if I remember correctly Pacwa was in a priestly-preparatory highschool before joining the jesuits (yeah they used to let kids decide to be priests and go to special highschools for it), apparently it was the last of its kind before it closed. He is truly of the old Jesuit order, the kind that would translate aquinas into English and carry chatecisms!

    • Monk

Chatecisms! You wrote “chatecisms”. I’m intrigued. It sounds like a ritual way of freeing someone possessed by social media. I’m all for it.

ROME CREATED A NEW FAITH……. A MAN CENTERED FAITH AS OPPOSED TO OUR GOD CENTERED FAITH AND CHURCH !!! ! A Little Known Fact About The Jesuit Society,….. When It Was ORIGINALLY Founded…. One Rule, Outstanding In The Order Was….. No Jesuit Would EVER BE ALLOWED To Become Pope !!! ” The Apple Does NOT Fall Far From The Tree ” !!! ! Jesus died for all Humankind; anyone who gets to Heaven does so by finding Jesus in hurting humans, as in Mt 25:36-41. Your theology is way off.

Luther (one of the pope’s favorite theologians) said faith only was required for salvation. 500 years later – we hear he was wrong – Faith isn’t required at all.

          • Poco Reese

The Bible is very clear about the road to eternity with God. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” john 14:6

Add all the other citations not a heretical cherry-picker

          • pat

Where does it say that Faith in Christ is not required?
One can call anything cherry picking, but when is found throughout the NT, that’s a stretch, and when it has been the constant understanding of the church, (all Christian sects too) it requires a little more than rainbows unicorns and lollipop theology to refute. More even than pope Francis happy-face mercy theology.
“finding Jesus in hurting human beings” is at best nebulous (you should put in for a job at the Vatican), but. I expect is meant to convey the idea that faith is irrelevant, without actually saying it. Thus, we really have come a full 180 degrees from Luther. 2017 “by works alone”

you don’t pity me, you despise me. (very Christian of you by the way)
but, as ever with people who look down their noses on those they put in baskets of deplorables…you are quick and generous with the insults and nastiness, but scant with any explanation of the premise short of “everyone who matters knows”, or “because I said so” (gee, that reminds me of someone important….but who?)
Anyway, when someone asserts something that is contrary to common understanding or liable to be taken as contrary to common understanding (and he knows such) then the burden of proof lies with him. When his response is something along the lines of “you’re not worth my time” or “you’re too dense” or worse, then we may be justified in assuming that he doesn’t really have a defense.

Respectfully, Anyone who gets to Heaven does so as indicated in Romans 10: 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”[f] 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”[g]

God knew before the beginning of my life that I would be one to follow Christ. He knew that I would have battles to overcome and He knew the exact time that I would Confess and Believe. Lip service saves no one. It is the change of the heart that enable us to follow a RISEN CHRIST. This is why Judas was able to deceive the disciples. No one knew his heart but Christ. Baptising a Baby does not save the infant. What it does is create an environment in which the parents vow to raise the kid in the knowledge of God. Eventually, the child must use its free will to follow Christ. All people must use their free will and accept Christ. All true believers read the WORD and Pray because they want to be in relationship with God. It is never a forced action. Read on…thanks. https://www.gotquestions.org/once-saved-always-saved.html

See, when you go into a little bit of depth, you sound pretty catholic. I hope you will one day think these thoughts a bit further. Go deeper! The catholic teachings will help make sense of it.
It’s just those over-simplified statements derived from quoting bible passages without context that we will balk about.

Example: You say baptising a baby does not save the infant.
Why do you feel you need to state the obvious? What do you think *we* believe? BTW, that is well documented.

On the other hand, stressing the obvious (baptism does not ensure heaven for the baby) cuts away much important information too: You must be born again by water and the spirit! If you cut the water away, you contradict Jesus (John 3:5)!
(This is in fact one of the very few dogmatically interpreted passages by the church: It is wrong to interpret the water that Jesus mentions as merely symbolic).

          • Poco Reese

You ever heard of the narrow road that Jesus speaks of in the bible. All will not be saved. I know many good people, with good deeds that deny Jesus. These people are lost and will not spend eternity with God. You must surrender and believe that Jesus is who he states he is. He is not just your ordinary prophet. HE IS GOD.

          • Poco Reese

You are very unkind. But just want you to know that the road to hell is paved with people like you. Insults are what I expect of the world so I guess you fit in quite naturally. You are not a man of God. I love to read the words of Christ. He is not like you at all.

          • HermitTalker

Jesus used language toward His critics I bet His Mother cringed. Sons of Snakes ; filthy tombs full of rotting bodies all painted white outside. Quite creative. You of course do not know your Bible obviously.

          • Poco Reese

but all humankind will never accept Jesus. For some, the love will be a one way street. They will not be able to accept and love Jesus.

        • Heinz

I don’t think you understand what he is saying.

Imagine a distortion mirror setup between man and Jesus. Some might point to where they see Jesus but point to hell actually, while another might point away from the image and still towards Him.

In other words, with so much misinformation about Jesus and His church about, with christians spreading hate in the internet, it is understandable that an innocent person decides against them, while still trying to follow “the law written on their heart”.
We believe that also those people will be saved by Jesus (as all salvation is through Him), even though they denounced the “jesus” that is preached by wicked people or that they were not capable to comprehend.

Otherwise the harm done by the few pedofile priests that caused/causes millions to fall away from the church condemns all those souls and their (un-baptized) decendents to hell.

Papa did not say that any Atheist is saved against their will or despite a lack of repentence. He simply believes that painting a picture of mercy is a better way to “fish” for people than elaborate pictures of the alternative.

          • Poco Reese

Yes, I have heard him say this , read it, etc. several times. There are ministers who emulate him and repeat this. However, there are Catholic men who rose up to denounce this type of heresy. I know so many kind and beautiful Catholics. Yet, I must state that I believe the church is a false system. I know Jews who came to Jesus by finding him in the Old Testament. This is powerful. Jesus is enough. Respectfully, Mary cannot suffice, nor can Priests or Popes. So let’s just paint the picture that Jesus painted. Salvation is in no other.

          • Heinz

I don’t understand what you try to say, so I cannot address it.
