Fairbanks, AR–Citing a need to “engage the modern world” and “reach out to the estranged youth of America,” the Office of Evangelization for the Catholic Diocese of Fairbanks, Arkansas faxed a report to the Associated Press this morning confirming plans that the Diocese will soon be obtaining an email address. “Once our modem is hooked up, we will be able to take part in the world wide webs,” a secretary told Eye of the Tiber in a letter mailed last week, “and access information in the blink of an eye.” The Diocese is hoping that [email protected] is not taken, but is willing to settle for [email protected]

Maybe next year someone at the chancery can set up a Geocities web-page for the Diocese.

    • After that, who knows? Bebo? Google+? The possibilities are … overwhelming 🙂

In preparation for the upgrade to internet access, all chancery PCs have been upgraded to Windows 98 and Netscape Navigator has been installed as the web browser of choice.

I hope they’re using AOL…. I’ve got a few free internet disks saved up!
